Janaki Welch Design*Build is a Topanga, California based firm with an emphasis on designing and building green, sustainable, and healthy non-toxic residential and commercial spaces.

Janaki Welch began her studies in Interior Architecture at The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.  Heading west, she spent over a decade in Oregon as a partner in a firm, designing and building residential structures. This led to further studies in architecture at the University of Oregon and UCLA. Arriving in Santa Monica in the mid 80’s, she realized her desire to see a project through to built and became a licensed general contractor and started her own company.

Janaki incorporates ecologically sound and green building materials and systems into her residential and commercial projects. She has been designing and building in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years, always with a sensitivity to the environment, respect for nature’s resources, consumption of less energy, nurturing one’s health, and enriching one’s senses as her focus.
